Wikipedia is getting a new interface

Wales (according to some guy with a hiptop) says that wikipedia (and the rest of wikimedia) will be moving to a what-you-see-is-what-you-get interface -- specifically, they'll be using Wikiwyg.

What's the status of this?
I don't see many news about visual editing for wikipedia.

I have developed MeanEditor, a visual editor based on WYMeditor which takes what I think is a good approach to adding a visual editor to Wikipedia.

It's on http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:MeanEditor

It was meant for a commercial project, but we think it is a good thing to give it back as open-source (fortunately our boss is a very knowledgeable person, a leading researcher in the search engine world).

We hope some of our ideas can contribute to create an easy-to-use editor for Wikipedia and other wikis.
