Wikipedia is an open-source encyclopedia. It's radically open — anyone can edit it — and increasingly relevant. This unofficial weblog tracks its progress (and lifts quotes).

About time - lets hope that things continue in this direction and people stop pandering over this "encyclopedia-building trumps all" attitude. People are needed to build the encyclopedia, and anything to aid them in doing that (be that community building stuff too), should be encouraged.
And of course, there are those of us who think that encyclopedias should, space allowing, include articles about famous bloggers, youtube celebrities, minor side streets, etc.
